BBC’s Beta Website

I’ve just seen the BBC’s beta version of the new homepage, and I have to say, I don’t find it particularly impressive. It seems to try and embrace the Web 2.0ish-ness, without any of the clean lines or elegant design. And it uses over-the-top chunky font sizes that make it appear to be treating me like a preschooler. Which I’m not.
However, there is one part of this new design I absolutely love. It’s the small clock in the top-right hand corner that ticks away with its little inertia-calculated wobble. It’s amazing! It almost redeems the rest of the ugliness. Almost.

This is so cool! Web designers everywhere, rejoice at the many, many hours of procrastination you will no doubt partake in, with this website-comparison website! Or as they describe it “Hot or Not for websites”.
Oh, and in case you were wondering where the name is derived from, Command-Shift-3 is the key combo on Macs to take a screenshot.
